There are more than 100 works, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations and even art films and documentaries, recovered thanks to collaboration with the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - Cineteca Nazionale, that have as protagonist the Rome of the early '60s, transformed and relived by the visual imagination of the artists of the so-called Scuola di piazza del Popolo.

From the artistic point of view, this is one of the most exciting moments for the city of Rome, full of intellectual stimuli and experimentation, thanks to the intense artistic and cultural activity of Franco Angeli, Nanni Balestrini, Gianfranco Baruchello, Umberto Bignardi, Mario Ceroli, Claudio Cintoli, Tano Festa, Giosetta Fioroni, Jannis Kounellis, Sergio Lombardo, Francesco Lo Savio, Renato Mambor, Gino Marotta, Titina Maselli, Fabio Mauri, Pino Pascali, Luca Maria Patella, Mimmo Rotella, Mario Schifano, Cesare Tacchi, Giuseppe Uncini. 
These are the artists in the exhibition, that reappropriate of a city in rapid transformation and definition, transforming it into art.

The exhibition, promoted by Roma Capitale - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali and edited by Claudio Crescentini, Costantino D’Orazio, Federica Piranihas a Scientific Committee composed of Nanni Balestrini, Achille Bonito Oliva, Maurizio Calvesi, Laura Cherubini, Andrea Cortellessa, Claudio Crescentini, Costantino D’Orazio, Raffaella Perna, Federica Pirani, Fabio Sargentini, Lorenza Trucchi.
